Personality (Basic description) : When not released, Kagen is overly kind, self-sacrificial, and suppresses any negative emotion regarding people for the sake of their better halves. Always believes in moral standing taking precedence over anything, but believes that duty will align itself with moral standing in the right light. Understands concepts of 'greater good' and 'most efficient', simply doesn't always agree with them. Due to certain events, the negative emotions he suppresses (lust, rage, fear, hatred, desire, ambition, warmongering) attached themselves to his reiatsu. This is subconsciously suppressed as a result-- he is therefore seen as the infamous 'weak seat' of division eleven. A seat newly developed, dedicated to housing their most pathetic member. However, when his shikai is released, inadvertantly unravelling his reiatsu, he becomes quite worthy of being in the eleventh division. Also, the negative emotions embody him-- this is almost a borderline personality change, however the key difference is that he is aware of it even when he returns to normal, so there are not two personalities, rather just the outward manifestation of repressed emotions.
Physical Appearance : The overall spiritual pressure and appearance of Kagen (when his shikai is not released) is very mild and timid. The only thing marking him as a member of division 11 is the overall masculine build, bronze skin, and apparent tribal tattoos upon his shoulders. Hair is of a sterling silver, pulled into a short pony tail at the back, with strands laying haphazzardly across facial features. Eyes are slightly larger than normal (in terms of anime-ness for guys) belying a kind and gentle soul. They are a vibrant gold that reflects most things. When shikai'd, the change is in his posture-- which becomes far more 'punkish'... his smile becomes a half-grin, and his eyes become far more slitted, developing a black ring around them that signals the overall asshole-complex that stirs from his negative emotional outburst.
History/ Biography : Kagen's potential as a fighter was recognized early at his birth. While not of noble descent, his ability to react to dire situations was not ignored. Accepted into the academy at an early age, Kagen underwent training much like the other students. Many students of noble birth felt jealous of Kagen's placements, oftentimes higher than some of the lesser apt nobility. As a result, during one of the training exercises to earth, to which Kagen was still surprisingly young, the older noble students felt it best to get 'rid of him'. He was broken away from the squad and left on earth, reported as a casualty in an elaborate ploy by the noble students. Kagen was left without a way home and not knowing much about his betrayal (given his young age.) He was discovered by an old man who was spiritually attuned. Though no one else could see Kagen (which made it strange and sometimes comical for the old man) the grandfatherly figure took Kagen in and raised him for several years. During this time Kagen learned earthbound Kendo (wooden swordplay)-- this would later effect his fighting style when he resumed training in Seireitei. He found himself best suited at using two bokken, rather than one. Surprisingly, the martial arts training of the old man actually strengthened his spiritual prowess enough to attract hollow attention. The old man was killed in one of the struggles, his final words to Kagen were to "Always smile-- take in the world happily, and never feel bad. When you feel bad things, you do bad things." Kagen took it literal and to heart, and has since repressed all negative emotions. Strangely, his negative emotions attached themselves to his reiatsu, and as a result-- by suppressing his negative emotions, he inherently suppresses his reiatsu at all times. This makes him seem weak, and leads to many of the other shinigami criticizing him for it. It, however, has its benefits. After his 'grandfather' died, shinigami appeared in the area just in time to defeat the hollow and recognized the young Kagen as being from the spirit world. Returning him there, it didn't take long for them to learn that he was the 'missing student' from the 'incident' a few years past. Proper disciplinary action was taken upon the noble students, and Kagen resumed his training and studies. The instructors didn't realize that his time on earth would have... odd but interesting effects on his reiatsu, growth, development, and most importantly-- his Zanpakutoh.
Zanpaku-to [Shinigami, Arrancar] (Include possible shikai to be obtained) :
Name: Hizashi Gekkou (Lit: Sunlight and Moonlight)
Unreleased: A normal-looking Katana.
Shikai Command: Tsukamu to gekitai, Hizashi Gekkou! (Lit: Grasp and Repel, Hizashi Gekkou!)
Description: One of the few and rare twin-bladed Zanpakutoh, previously believed only Shunsui-taichou and Ukitake-taichou carried them. Seemingly Non-elemental, the twin-bladed Zanpakutoh are linked by a very long and nearly indestructible chain at the base of the hilts. These chains wrap up around Kagen's arms or around his waist. The Twin-Blades themselves carry two interesting Reiatsu reactions-- but their general function is to enhance his sword combat several fold.
Hizashi, a blade of eerily glowing white, compresses the user's Reiatsu and channels it through the blade's edge, giving it an effective cut beyond what is necessary. By channeling the Reiatsu in a very specific manner, the blade emits a powerful repellent, causing matter to be repelled from the blade's center. The effect is strongest against metallic objects. Generally used for attack purposes.
Gekkou, a blade of throbbing pulsating darkness, it evenly coats the dense blade with the user's Reiatsu. The blade itself is exceedingly dense and thick, its edge unable to cut unless excessive force is applied. For melee, this blade is generally used as a tool of bludgeoning. However, due to its extremely dense material composition, the blade is virtually unbreakable. By channeling the Reiatsu in the blade, a powerful draw-in occurs surrounding the blade. Matter is seemingly drawn toward it, again more powerfully metallic objects. Generally used for defensive purposes.
The Chain: The chain allows the blades to remain connected, and serves as a stasis field to keep gekkou from attracting hizashi, or hizashi from repelling gekkou, if at anytime one of the two blades isn't being channeled reiatsu (when both have reiatsu channeled through them, gekkou's attraction is cancelled by hizashi's repulsion, though the stasis field is still in effect via the chain). The chain also allows Kagen to throw either blade without 'losing' it-- as the chain generally remains encircled about his body, he can yank either blade back by it.
Note: The attraction and repulsion of the blades are done by consciously cycling Reiatsu, and they are not things which are constantly in effect-- at any time either or both effects can be haulted by cutting off reiatsu circulation through the blades.

::The night air was as crisp as the usual aesthetic perfection allowed within the hallowed walls of Seireitei. Designed to be a paradise of eternal peace and prosperity, the obvious conundrum glaring one in the face being their need for a large and well-structured military unit. Locks of silver would give flutter in the tamed breeze, that wisped pony-tail extending down no lower than his back splaying itself out in front of him across his cheek with the encore of wind. Kind eyes, emitting a serene glow of gold that paled in the shine of the moon watched from his self-stationed position atop the academy's roof. The night was young, and as a result, several of the more ambitious students who'd yet to graduate were still running laps, or sparring dummies or one another, in order to hone their skills and better understand their bodies for their time to come as shinigami. A shinigami does not sleep, he waits. It was a concept that all became familiar with during their first few years out of that schooling. The smile tugging up at Kagen's lips seemed to brighten with their enthusiasm. Even though their bodies emitted very little remaining spiritual pressure, even though their legs seemed to quiver, they did not give up. Each of them strived to graduate in order to uphold their ideal. Like night and day, Kagen could think to the taichou and their fukutaichou. He could account for ambitions gone awry, and for struggles within themselves that oftentimes bested them. Those raw, youthful ambitions were left behind, easily cast off with words like 'innocence' or 'naievete'... Yet to Kagen, it was this pure desire to achieve self-excellence and make a difference in the world around them that made the new recruits, the 'greenhorns' so alluring. With his zanpakutoh embedded within the sash at his hip, the muscular features of the 11th Division Weak Seat would soften with a sigh. His admiration itself depressed him a bit, a depression which he instantly shoved deep within the recesses of his heart. Hopping down from the building once the last of the academy students had turned in, Kagen would make his way toward his own quarters. The unrivaled truth he knew and refused to acknowledge... was that those kids had no idea what they were in for.::
